Serla and the environment
Metsä Tissue seeks to minimize the environmental impact of our products throughout their life cycle starting from sourcing of raw materials, through production and consumption to their disposal. We aim to strengthen our position as the forerunner in the tissue industry with best environmental performance. Minimising the environmental impact of our mills is a strategically important area for continuous improvement. Our mills are certified according to the ISO 1400 environmental management system and the ISO 9001 quality management system.

Serla products have been awarded the Nordic Environmental Label (Swan label) as a sign of their sound environmental performance. The Swan Label shows that the product’s environmental impact has been assessed during its entire life cycle, including raw materials, chemicals and production processes. Serla products
Strong and economical Serla products are made largely from recycled fibre. Use of recycled fibre reduces the amount of domestic waste taken for landfill.
